Mac Miller brought The Divine Feminine Tour to the Observatory OC.
The stage depicted scenery off of the latest album by the young spitter, The Divine Feminine.
He made an entrance, starting with the track "Cinderella" featuring Ty Dolla Sign. The crowd went wild as he entered the dim room that soon lit up in a light spectacle, as soon his verse kicked in.
He proceeded to greet the room and followed with "Congratulations." Again, the lights dimmed and as the keys off the instrumental played, the room filled in a divine ambiance. Fans embraced the moment as he performed the most heart-felt tracks off The Divine Feminine.
Mac Miller continued to savor the moment as he had everyone in attendance reciting along to each and every word of these new tracks. The crowd in attendance showed him undoubted loyalty as he switched things up a bit and transitioned into his backpack rap mixtape rhymes.
He performed the Nas sampled "Nikes On My Feet" off the KIDS mixtape, as well as "Kool Aid and Frozen Pizza." He threw in "Best Day Ever" and a few other cuts that had us mid-twenty year olds reminiscing on those Paid Dues/Rock the Bells festival days where we were first were introduced to the kid.
In the wake of recent world matters, fans chanted "F*** Donald Trump" throughout various periods in between the show, all which Miller ignored. He disappeared behind the dark curtains leading the crowd to believe that the show was over, again the chants began followed by "one more song." Miller stepped onto the stage again and decided to address the matter. "...Whatever negativity is going on in the world, it's not coming in here. Leave that stuff out there. this is OUR WORLD in here!" The crowd cheered and he broke off into another series of tracks for the next fifteen minutes.
Mac Miller's performance was nothing short of amazing. For those who have witnessed his career unravel, this chapter he is in musically is hands-down his most creative one to date. The growth artistically is depicted through this latest project and the presence on that stage.
